Hi! I am a HSP without a mind’s eye. I have been interested in secular buddhism for a bit and have noticed my inability to visualize through that. The way I look at it is that due to my high sensitivity I need less extreme methods to feel and understand the concepts that meditation techniques teach. I keep my meditation very minimalistic. I focus on my breath or some concept (for example love), not hoping for some vivid experience. These practices are not a performance, you don’t need to have the heaviest experiences. My emotions/experiences are strong enough on it’s own and induce the feeling of awe without the need for very extreme techniques. I often find elaborate techniques more disctracting than helping (like they give me a sense of mental clutter). I don’t know how it works for you though. Best from the Netherlands!
