Grant Research Coordinator

Role Description

The Aphantasia Network is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Grant Research Coordinator to spearhead our efforts in securing funding for groundbreaking aphantasia research. In this role, you will be instrumental in identifying potential grant opportunities and crafting compelling proposals that align with our mission to advance understanding of image-free thinking. Your expertise will not only enhance our research capabilities but also contribute significantly to the global conversation on aphantasia.

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify grant opportunities that align with the research aims and objectives of the Aphantasia Network.
  • Analyze and understand the requirements of each funding opportunity to ensure alignment with our goals and capacity.
  • Develop and maintain a database of potential grants, including deadlines, application requirements, and funding scopes.
  • Write clear, persuasive, and comprehensive grant proposals, including drafting budgets and justifying funding needs.
  • Liaise with scientific and research teams to gather necessary information for grant applications.
  • Submit grant proposals in accordance with grantor’s specifications and deadlines.
  • Follow up on submitted proposals and provide additional information as requested by grantors.
  • Keep the Aphantasia Network team informed of the grant application statuses and any feedback received from funding agencies.
  • Optionally, negotiate commissions based on successful grant applications.

Requirements

  • Experience in grant research and grant writing, preferably with a background in scientific research or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand and articulate scientific research aims.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive and clear proposals.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple grant applications simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with the landscape of research funding and a knack for strategic thinking in identifying funding opportunities.
  • A commitment to the Aphantasia Network’s mission and a passion for supporting research in the field.
  • The ability to work on a volunteer basis, with the option to negotiate commissions for successful grant applications.
