The Aphantasia Network is seeking a skilled WordPress Engineer with a strong background in PHP to enhance, upgrade, and maintain our website. Your technical expertise will ensure our site is not only running smoothly but also evolving with our organization’s needs, providing a seamless and informative user experience for visitors interested in learning about aphantasia.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular updates and maintenance on the WordPress website, ensuring all components are functioning optimally.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented PHP code to create or customize plugins and implement new features.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any PHP or WordPress-related issues that arise.
  • Optimize website performance, ensuring fast loading times and a responsive design across all devices.
  • Implement best practices for website security to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with content creators and designers to integrate new features and enhancements that support the Aphantasia Network’s mission and user engagement goals.
  • Conduct website testing and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest WordPress development trends and technologies.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in PHP and experience with WordPress theme and plugin development.
  • Solid understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
  • Experience with responsive and adaptive design principles.
  • Knowledge of website security and performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with version control tools such as Git.
