I stumbled across a chat about those rare people who don't have a voice in their head, and someone said, "you think that's amazing, there are people who can't see anything in their head." To which, i thought he was trolling, but as i went looking for more details and started talking to people, i found out that it wasn't a metaphor. I was about 40yrs old at the time. English isn't my wife's first language, making those types of conversations difficult. I'm almost fully Aphant; score 1/10 on taste.

I have aphantasia (on the extreme low end of the scale). My first experience with hyperphantasia was when I discussed my condition with my wife and discovered she has hyperphantasia (and as it turns out, she's near the top end of the scale). This likely explains why we've had communication issues.

I am similar to you as is your wife to my wife but since we have been married for more than forty years we must have worked our way round these problems . I think my very bad memory is excused now by this discovery as is her habit of repeating what happened years ago particularly when it was unpleasant .
