Mind blown

I remember about a year ago, I came across of Youtube video pertaining to aphantasia. I immediately that to myself, wow, this explains a lot. I came to the realization that I had never been able to visualize anything, only "think" what I was trying to visualize. Tell me to visualize a pear, not a chance, even though I can think about how know what a pear looks like. I just can't actually see that pear. It's sometimes very draining since I discovered this, especially since I am always wanting to meditate or participate in hypnosis. There is always just a the inside of my eyelids, no peaceful waterfall or green lush grass, just nothing but darkness. I find it very difficult to also portray or discuss my thoughts with someone. It's as if I have this perfectly thought out idea in my mind when suddenly the moment I open my mouth and is ruined when I try to actually explain something. This doesn't always happen mind you, but frequently enough. It is comforting to know that there are other who are experiencing the same phenomenon. Guess all in all, we are pretty incredible for experiencing life this way.

One of our community journalists at the Network just published an article on her experience of meditation with aphantasia, I think you will enjoy it! Also, we'll be publishing another article by Liana tomorrow, guess what the topic is?! ... her experience of hypnosis with aphantasia!!
