i'll skip talking about the 2d/3d vision mindmess ive had over the last month but it was the reason i found out i was aphantasic, i was searching hard for someone else who had stereoblindness to talk to i fell into here its been quite jolting discovering the difference of experience i have/am having from the majority population, finding out i saw things drastically differently and then also cant think in a way that sounds like magic to me sometimes i can make the faintest of faint things appear with my eyes shut in the dark ive tried to think “apple apple apple” and flash it in the darkness, the best ive done is candle flames one time, extremely dim and random, and objects that look nothing like the object im trying to imagine, as if creating a blurred and melted 3dmodel thats color barely differentiates from black, usually darkred, and then for some reason when i am able to create them they start coming towards me and fly past me and go away

I too have aphantasia. I can sometimes paint blurry shapes in my mind's eye. Dark blue, dark purple, and dark green are easiest; bright colors like yellow or white are very hard. I can control the colored splotches to a limited extent. I can increase the area covered by a splotch and even swirl the colors around the center, if I concentrate.
