I just found out one day ago about Aphantasia. I'm 70 and I've gone my whole life not realising about this. It was a tweet referring to the "think of an apple" thing that very quickly lead me to this. Most people can actually visualise a beach, a horse, an apple and describe it ? Err, what ?In me this applies to vision, taste and smell, however, I can hear music in my mind, sometimes in great detail. I saw a tweet this afternoon which referred to "There is a house in New Orleans" and immediately I was hearing The Animals song in my head and I probably haven't heard that for many decades. So. is that the way it works with images for most people ?I feel somewhat disturbed by this, but in a way pleased that I've got this far in my life without awareness that others could see pictures in their minds.
