This is interesting because I currenlty do social work, and I used to do hospice care. It was very easy for me to be there with dying patients, respectfully, and understand my roll without becoming too emotional. Yes I was sad when my favorite patients would pass on, but it was never overwhelming. I can effortlessly "change" my thoughts from something unpleasant, and kind of turn it off in a way, without being bumbarded with sad news (for example). My partner calls it " switching files, or closing files" in regards to my thoughts. Maybe this is my superpower

This is really interesting. I also can not picture, or describe faces, and have challenges remembering what others look like. However, I can vagley remember what they look like if I've seen a photo of them. I will be able to remember the photo specifically, even if I cant picture it.

Hello. I am 37/yr old female. I recently discovered I also have aphantasia when it was explained to me by someone else more familiar. I started to wonder if it also affects my sense of smell (oldfactory). I very often notice that I cannot smell things others mention, or I think somethings smells nice, and someone else says it is not a good smell. I cannot meditate after trying for years, my dreams are almost always vague, I cannot remember what people look like, I always get lost. Yet I have an excellent memory of conversations, dates, reading material etc.
