On “Have you ever felt like your mind holds images you can't quite "see"?”
I relate to this. I feel like I can recall people/objects/events without seeing them in my mind. I can describe them verbally, draw a fairly detailed picture from memory, or recognize a real photo versus an altered one from the event in question.
