I have aphantasia and have vivid lucid dreams. Mental imagery and subconscious imagery are apparently two different things.

I am on a journey to see if I can obtain or maybe regain mental imagery as well. There has been one memory in my adult years that was able to produce some form of mental imagery. Otherwise it has been blank. I have no answers yet but will keep you posted!

I have aphantasia and had such vivid dreams as a child that some dreams created a second reality. There was an entire ‘part of my childhood’ that I realized was dreamt when I was an early teen. I also have lucid dreams and spend most of my time flying when it happens.
