Aphantasia Distress Questionnaire

Understand the impact of aphantasia on your daily life and well-being.

How much does aphantasia affect your daily life?

The Aphantasia Distress Questionnaire (ADQ) is a validated self-report tool developed by researchers Merlin Monzel and colleagues at the University of Bonn to measure the emotional and practical impact of living with aphantasia. It assesses how the absence of mental imagery may affect well-being, daily activities, and personal relationships. The ADQ helps identify individuals who may experience significant distress due to aphantasia.
Note: This survey is not a diagnostic tool. It is part of a research study exploring the impact of aphantasia on daily life and well-being.
