Body Perceptions Questionnaire Short Form

Explore your awareness of bodily sensations and physical reactions.

How aware are you of your body's signals?

The Body Perception Questionnaire-Short Form (BPQ-SF) is a validated self-report measure originally developed by Stephen W. Porges at the University of Maryland in 1993 and refined into its short form by Ana Cabrera, Jacek Kolacz, Guillem Pailhez, Andrea Bulbena-Cabre, Antonio Bulbena, and Stephen W. Porges at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona and Indiana University. The BPQ-SF assesses body awareness and autonomic nervous system reactivity—how aware you are of bodily sensations and how your body physically responds to stress and experiences.
Note: This survey is not a diagnostic tool. It is part of a research study exploring the relationship between body awareness and imagery experiences, including aphantasia.
