Hi, I am only just learning about Aphantia and it is putting a lot of things into context for me. I have been doing EMDR for the past 2-3 years. Whilst I can't 'picture' the momery in my mind, I realise that I recall trumatic memeories using verbal discriptors. I would narrate the memory in my mind and experience the emotions during EMDR sessions. I also find myself 'analysing' the memory as I listen to my inner narrator. The good news is, I have found EMDR very helpful. My lack of ability to create mental images has not impacted the very real benefits I've experienced to process truma. Good luck with your therapy!
