Social Media: What does this mean to you?

The irony of social media for me is that its the ideal environment for communicating in written form; an outlet for “back and forth” dialog; a place to exchange ideas and knowledge, in theory anyways. The most prevalent and dark side of social media however is that is has dumb-sized adults to the mindset of fourteen year olds. No one listening, everyone engaging in promoting themselves or their whatever (fill in the blank) for money or fame. If you think about the genesis of Facebook, it all started because an immature male nerd with raging testosterone was spurned by female peers. I think that people with pictures in their heads are blind to the realities of present day.
