I can relate to that. I have aphantasia (never produced a clear image in my mind, I can get a very quick and blurry flash if I try very hard, I also can’t produce sounds. I can’t feel touches, though my body may react to that imaginary an touch that I didn’t actually feel. Anyway, I have for a very long time considered myself demisexual. To me, it means that I won’t look at a person or a picture and phantasize anything more intimate. I’ll only want to touch a person if a actually have a good bond with them. But now that I discovered that I have aphantasia and, it makes me wonder: are looks less important to me precisely because I can’t create images with my mind? Because I can remember the connection the the emotion of the moment, but not their face?
