I wonder if many other aphants have a similar ability to recall the location of information on a page. When I was in grade school I did very well on tests because I could reference information about a subject by recalling where it was on the textbook page. I didn't picture the page, it was more like the position was a key to recalling the data.

I can totally relate to what you describe about remembering a photo of a person's face better than the actual face! If I try to remember how someone I know looks, the closest I can get to visualizing their face is to reference a memory of how they looked in a photo I have seen.
