Joined over 1 year agoAs a child keenly interested in sport, I would trace the athletes who graced the covers of Sports Illustrated. I used tracing paper a lot to engage with maps and study borders. I wonder if Aphantasia fostered this penchant for overlays since I could not visualize the images themselves. My career is marked by stints in engineering and analysis.

Thanks for posting this!̦ Robert. I've taken part in the H0ffman Process and, like Nina (below), I struggled with many of the exercises. It seemed like the majority of practices involved some visualization. Toward the end of the 1st day, I mentioned to one of the facilitators that I couldn't see anything in my mind's eye. Her paraphrased response: trust the process - "it'll come". Though the dreaming did during the week, the visualisations never did. I wonder if in the ensuing years that more of the Process facilitators have taken aphantasia into account in delivering their curriculum? This links to preprint of a paper addressing 'The impact of aphantasia on mental healthcare experiences' [Nov. 2024]: https://osf.io/preprints/psyarxiv/f6h5q_v1
