On “How did you first discover aphantasia?”

I am 72 years old. I still work fulltime and have had a great career. One week ago I was talking to a friend and she told me she had recently discovered she had aphantasia and started to explain. Well I was dumbstruck. Everything she said I exclaimed that is me.!! I had no idea that I was different. I had never considered that people generally see pictures. It explains a lot. I get lost easily, I enjoy travel but once home have no visual recollection. I hated exams as it didnt matter how hard I tried I didnt retain the information but I can certainly write and I love numbers. At this early stage I think its decidedly wierd that I have got to this age without a clue. I have done the test. I dont see anything. Im as off the scale as you can get. Im not going to dwell on it. It is what it is .
