Found out about Aphantasia only recently. It helps to explain why I 'draw' pictures with words in prose poetry. And why I never found a safe place to visualise when in therapy for PTSD - what a lot of time that would have saved me, and reduced the feeling of added failure it caused. I do dream in pictures sometimes, even in colour, but my life is based on words - and mild synesthesia when written words become scents.
