Ok this is super weird because I was scrolling through here laying in bed. I closed my eyes and started drifting and had exactly what you describe. I have it almost every night and it has made me confused why I can’t see anything when I am awake. I have very vivid dreams, they feel so real - but nothing during the day… anyways - very ironic this was the next post I looked at when I opened my eyes.
