Aphantasia and Neurodiversity Deep Dive

1 min readByTom Ebeyer
HyperphantasiaPhantasia
Hi everyone,
We're thrilled to announce a comprehensive research study exploring the relationship between aphantasia and other forms of neurodiversity.

What's this about?
We're investigating how aphantasia relates to and overlaps with other neurological differences. This is one of the most in-depth studies we've undertaken, using a battery of validated questionnaires to capture a fuller picture of the aphantasic experience.

What questionnaires are involved?
We've compiled six key surveys:
PAQ - Perception and Awareness Questionnaire
CATI-R - Cognitive Assessment of Traits and Imagery (Revised)
MAIA-2 - Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness
BPQ-SF - Body Perception Questionnaire (Short Form)
IATS - Internal Awareness and Thought Sensitivity
IAS - Interoceptive Accuracy Scale

Why participate?
Your responses will contribute to important academic research that could help us better understand how aphantasia fits within the broader landscape of neurodiversity. This data will be used to write a paper for the special issue and advance scientific knowledge about our community.
The surveys are available now at the links above. Your participation is completely voluntary and greatly appreciated!
