I read a blog where the author was talking about how his mind was blown that some people do not see it hear things in their minds.

For me it is all senses. I have never had an inner voice. I've never smelled in my mind or any of what is being described here.

I have had one visual dream in my life that I remember, but it was a still image. I have only dreams with emotions surrounding events that I know to be happening, but I can't see it to visualize. I do not feel blind in these dreams because I have never visualized in my minds eye. Even when awake I am often not aware or observant of my surroundings when I am thinking.
