I’ve always had trouble with spelling. I didn’t realize it is by my mental blackboard is broken.

I see the geometric shapes when I close my eyes to sleep also. Sometimes I can conjure up a little green character in the middle. It spins and spins until it becomes clear for just a moment. I can recall this even when I was a child.

Wow I’m the same way. Exactly. I have excellent spatial memory, I’m great with colors and love to read. Like you, I thought I was picturing things I was reading about but it really clicked when you said it was more like experiencing it. I remember reading books and being so into them that I forgot where I was. I felt like I was living them. I read The Stand by Stephen King when I was 13 and it was like I was there. Learning about this explains so much. I can’t wait to learn more about it!
